Beautiful Bourbon cask Whisky from Taiwan.

TheNantou Distillerymay not be a household name in Europe or the US, but it’spretty bigin Taiwan. The state-owned manufacturer of tobacco and alcohol established it in1978, but it took three full decades before first Whisky came out of their stills. They use their own German mash tun and washbacks and boastfour Forsyths stills. The climate in Taiwan ishotandhumid, which means the angels are able to steal around five percent of Spirit each year. Nantou’s most famous brand isOmar, but they also make theYushan Signaturerange, which is a tribute to thehighest mountainin Taiwan.

ThiscuriousTaiwanese Whisky was matured inex-Bourbon casksbefore being bottled at 46%. The nose opens with honey, vanilla and peaches, introducing us to a pleasant and spicy palate with notes of smooth caramel, vanilla and lime.
