A member of the Distiller’s Select lineup of whiskeys, Woodford Reserve Malt Whiskey is one of the latest permanent additions. It consists of a mash bill of 51% malted barley, 47% corn, and 2% rye. Aside from the different ratios in the recipe, it gets the same treatment as their bourbons in every other way, including aging in new, charred American oak casks. The percentage of malted barley is relatively low 51% being the minimum for this style making it surprisingly similar to bourbon and a great entry point into quality malt whiskey done the American way.
