Springbank 16 Year Old Local Barley 1st Release

This is thefirst release in Springbanks acclaimed 5-expression Local Barley range. Distilled in September 1999 using barley grown at Low Machrimore Farm in the Kintyre Peninsula, this single malt was matured in 80% bourbon and 20% sherry casks before being bottled in January 2016.

Only 9,000 bottles were released, making it one of the most sought-after Springbank editions. It offers a sweet and rounded profile with soft coastal peat, butter shortbread, vanilla, and gentle fruit. The earthy finish reflects Springbanks traditional dunnage warehouse style.

Bottled at 54.3% ABV.

Nose: Sweet and briny with butter shortbread, vanilla, pear drops, and raisins

Palate: Soft fruit, subtle peat, butter tablet, and mineral notes

Finish: Long and earthy with lemon zest, candy, and integrated peat
