This is the fifth release in Springbanks sought-after Local Barley series, distilled from Optic barley grown at High Cattadale Farm near Campbeltown. It was distilled in July 2009 and bottled in October 2019. The whisky matured in a mix of 77% bourbon casks, 20% sherry casks, and 3% port casks. Like all Local Barley editions, it reflects Springbanks traditional 100% Campbeltown productionfrom barley to bottle. Only 9,000 bottles were released globally. Bottled at 56.2% ABV.
Nose:Sweet and slightly spicy with honey, Demerara sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and light peat smoke
Palate:Tropical fruit sweetness with ripe pineapple, mango, peaches, gentle peat smoke, green tea and coppery minerality
Finish:Creamy and buttery with integrated smoke and a coastal salty touch
