Lammershoek literally means lambs corner, and legend has it that ewes sought shelter for their offspring in the forest alongside the farm when they were threatened by the black eagle which abounded there. Established in 1718 Lammershoek is owned and run by the husband & wife team Andres & Sonja Abold. Located in the Swartland Region, Lammershoek’s climate is perfectly suited varieties such as Chenin Blanc & Shiraz. Blessed with an abundance of old vines, the farm produces some exceptional delights including our personal favourite theWhite Mysterieswhite blend.
Lammershoek Swartland Red Blend 2018, a captivating Shiraz-based blend featuring Carignan, Mourvdre, and Grenache. Grown in the Mediterranean-like climate of Swartland, South Africa, this wine showcases the vibrant character and complexity of this emerging wine region. With lush notes of strawberries, raspberries, and cherries, its a perfect example of why Swartland is making waves in the wine world.
