La Venenosa Tigre Special Edition Raicilla
The crown jewel of the current releases from La Venenosa is the Raicilla produced by Maestro Tabenero Don Luis Contreras exclusively from wild foraged Inaequidens agave found in the coniferous forests of the Sierra del Tigre near the village of Manzanilla de la Paz, 2,000 meters above sea level. After harvest, the plants are roasted over burning wood in an earthen oven. Distillation is in a Filipino ceramic still and Don Luis limits production to 700 liters per year. Notes include sour beer, pickled beets, vanilla custard, rose petals, and pine trees.
