In recent releases, Springbank and Kilkerran have embraced variation in their 16-year-old expressions. The latest batch, featuring 65% ex-sherry, 30% ex-bourbon, and 5% ex-rum casks, marks a departure from previous compositions that leaned heavily on ex-bourbon or ex-sherry casks. Bottled at 46%ABV

Nose: Earthy with grassy notes, mineralic pebble, honey, caramel, lemon, pineapple, mango, salty ham, light smoke, and copper coins.

Palate: Earthy, mineralic, oily, with honey, caramel, lemon, raspberry, ginger, white pepper, sooty smoke, charred oak, hazelnut, and cream.

Kilkerrans 16-year-old, now predominantly sherry cask matured, offers a balanced and complex profile with earthy, sweet, and smoky notes harmoniously integrated.
