Exceedingly impressive single malt from Springbank, released under the unpeated Hazleburn name. Matured for 21 years, this cracking Campbeltown spent its time in a 70/30 combo of sherry and bourbon casks, which eventually yielded a total of 3,600 bottled, released in June 2022. Bottled at 46% , Bottle size 750ml

Nose: Sticky treacle and sugared dates, chocolate raisins with mixed nuts, and crumbled ginger biscuits.

Palete: Toasted marzipan opens the way for sweet dried apricot and flaky almond croissants, with more warming ginger poking through.

Finish: A dash of bitter cocoa with dried cherries followed by distant wafts of wood polish and clove.
