GlenAllachie 18 year old Speyside Single Malt Scotch 92 proof 700ml

The GlenAllachie is an independently-owned Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery. It is located a mile or so south of the town of Aberlour and the River Spey itself.

A wide range of Single Malts is produced, including the peated Meikle Tir. The GlenAllachie is also home to the Macnair’s and White Heather brands. The water comes from dam heads over two miles (3km) from the distillery. The Henshead and Blackstank streams flow into Beatschach Burn, which flows to The GlenAllachie.

The GlenAllachie Distillery was built in 1967 outside of Aberlour. It quietly produced fine single malt without much fanfare until it’s closure by Invergordon Distillers in 1987. Eventually, the distillery was sold to Pernod Ricard and began churning out malt again for their range of blends focused mainly on the French market. Because of the popularity of those blends it was almost never seen as a single malt, but in 2017 the distillery and its stock were sold to former BenRiach master distiller Billy Walker and a group of industry insiders.
