A limited release from Compass Box. Inspired by a 1929 surrealist artwork, This is not a luxury Whisky is a compelling and complex blended Scotch packaged in a style that we hope also poses questions about what it is that makes a luxury whisky a luxury. The blend contains 79% first-fill sherry butt from Glen Ord, 4% Caol Ila, 10% Strathclyde grain and 6.9% Girvan grain. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 53.1%.

Nose: Light smoke and Sherried sultanas open this one. Full on Christmas cake notes, with a very slight touch of pineapple chunks.

Palate: Full bodied and a touch oily, with dark chocolate and enjoyable notes of brown sugar. Light floral elements.

Finish: Smoke and crushed nuts last.
