Camin Larredya Jurancon Sec Part Davant 2022
Intense on the nose with beautiful notes of white peach, pineapple, citrus along with yeasty and subtle oaky characters. On the palate its all about the lively texture and fleshy white fruits as well as orange and citrus notes with an elegant driven acidity and long mineral, salty finish.
La Part Davant is a Juranon Sec, or dry Juranon, made from 50% Gros Manseng and 35% Petit Manseng and 15% Petit Courbu. The wine is named after the Davan plot of his vineyard.
Camin Larredya is a small estatein Juranon, a wine appellation spread throughout the Bearnaise hills in the South-West of France. Jean-Marc Grussaute runs this small estate, that uses the local word “Camin”, which means road, instead of domainein its title. He has been farming organically since 2007 with his first certified vintage being in 2010. To call Jean-Marc a rising star would be an understatement. Since taking over the family domaine in 1988 at age 20, he has elevated the entire appellation with his ambitious winemaking and farming. A consistent darling of theRevue des Vins de France, the only thing keeping Jean-Marc’s wines affordable is their relative obscurity outside of southwestern France. Across all cuvees, his wines are textbook examples of the classic profile of Jurancon wines.
