Taste:
Crafted with Mash Bill #2, a sour mash consisting of corn, malted barley, and extra rye, this exquisite bourbon matures in American White Oak casks. Upon nosing, it reveals tantalizing aromas of nutmeg and spices. On the palate, expect a robust blend of dry vanilla with subtle hints of honey, caramel, and corn. The finish is medium, dominated by caramel and corn notes throughout.
History:
Known as “liquid gold,” blanton’s takara gold originates from a legacy of excellence. The first bottle in this prestigious collection was crafted in 1984 under the guidance of Elmer T. Lee, the Master Distiller at the George T. Stagg Distillery, now known as Buffalo Trace. With inspiration from Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, who served as distillery president from 1921 to 1951, this bourbon is a tribute to quality. Colonel Blanton reserved bottles aged at warehouse Ha metal-clad structure creating unique aging conditionsfor special guests and friends.
Blanton’s high rye content and aging process of 6-8 years make it a sought-after bourbon. Notably, each bottle features one of eight collectible horse stoppers introduced in 1999, each with a letter that spells “B-L-A-N-T-O-N’-S.” Displayed in various horse race positions, these stoppers are a prized element for collectors. Note, bottles found overseas will be 700 ml, while domestic versions are 750 ml.
