Ardbeg An Oa Single Malt Scotch Whisky

An Oa (pronounced an oh) joined the core Ardbeg range in 2017. Matured in a combination of ex-Pedro Ximnez sherry casks, virgin oak and ex-Bourbon barrels and then vatted and married in a new bespoke “gathering vat” made from French oak. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 46.6%. (Bottle size 750ml)

Nose:Rounded and smoky with creamy toffee, aniseed and dates. A suggestion of juicy fruits along with fragrant candle wax, sea air and smoked herbs.

Palate:Syrupy sweetness with milk chocolate, treacle toffee, aniseed, orange and smoky tea leaves. Nutmeg, cinnamon, a whiff of cigar smoke, nuttiness and oak.

Finish:Sweet with floral overtones, mint toffee and some malty biscuit notes.
