Ardbeg 17 Year Old Committee Release (2024)
This special release brings back the original Ardbeg 17, first launched in 1997 after the distillery reopened. It was one of the first whiskies from the “new” Ardbeg and became a classic. Now, 20 years after it disappeared from shelves, it returnsrecreated by Dr. Bill Lumsden for Ardbeg fans. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, it shows a softer, more elegant side of Ardbeg with balanced smoke and rich flavours. Bottled at 40%ABV

Nose: Gentle peat smoke, balsamic and medicinal notes, with menthol and sea spray.

Palate: Soft and silky, with sweet smoke, malty barley, and dried herbs.

Finish: Long, warm, with oak spice, cocoa, and a touch of iodine.
