The Aalto Pagos Seleccionados (PS) is always a more powerful, classical Ribera del Duero made from 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) sourced from very old vines – 60-90 years old – in the villages of La Horra and La Aguilera. Qualitatively it sits with the likes of Vega Sicilia and Pingus, but at a snip of the price! Raised in new French oak for 21 months the Aalto PS is dark fruited with flowers dusted in coffee and chocolate, a certain stony minerality and spice.
