The Zahel family was the forst to ever bottel Gemischter Sats, capturing the spirit of Viennas local wine taverns (Heurigers) which began when Emperor Joseph IIs ordinance of 1784 allowed Asutrians to sell home-made food, wine, and the convivial
spirit of the Viennese Gemtlichkeit (warmth, friendliness, and good cheer).
