Arnaldo-Caprai Rosso Outsider Umbria 2003 750ml

Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon (among others), young, greasy and clad in lots of form fitting denim. It was 1983, and being an Outsider was never so sexy or delicious! If you could bottle these guys in their prime, you might have a close approximation to this blend of equal parts Cabernet and Merlot, grown in Umbria of all places and made by the master of Umbrian wine, Arnaldo Caprai. Aged for 18 months in French oak, it is a seamless, opulent and rich Super Tuscan, except of course it does not come from Tuscany! That’s the play on words, though we prefer the above connotation! Drink or hold for many years to come.
